Piston-to-Valve Clearance
The Stage 1 camshaft is designed as a direct drop-in application and does not normally require fly-cut pistons.
However, piston-to-valve clearance should always be verified during engine assembly. Cylinder head machining, block machining, gasket thickness, piston configuration, and other engine modifications can affect available clearance.
OBS Fuel System Notice
1994–1997 OBS 7.3L Powerstroke trucks require an electric fuel pump conversion.
The Stage 1 billet camshaft does not have the eccentric lobe required to operate the factory mechanical fuel pump. An electric fuel system such as an AirDog, FASS, or equivalent setup will be required.
