Piston-to-Valve Clearance

The Stage 1 camshaft is designed as a drop-in application that does not normally require fly-cut pistons.

However, piston-to-valve clearance should always be verified during engine assembly. Cylinder head machining, block machining, head gasket thickness, piston configuration, and other engine modifications can affect available clearance.

OBS Fuel System Notice

1994–1997 OBS 7.3L Powerstroke trucks require an electric fuel pump conversion.

This camshaft does not have the mechanical fuel pump eccentric lobe required to operate the factory mechanical fuel pump.

OBS applications will require an electric fuel system such as an AirDog, FASS, or equivalent electric fuel pump setup.
